When I experienced my first multiple sclerosis (MS) symptom in 2016, I was initially very scared. But looking back, I think a lot of that fear was rooted in what was unknown — how my future might look, and if I could maintain my health. However, after living with MS for nearly five years, I’ve found some great ways to accept my diagnosis, and even to thrive.
I get a lot of comfort in thinking about the condition as my best friend. Just like friends, MS and I have had to learn to live together. We’ve had our ups and downs. But I know for sure that my mindset has helped me learn to follow this journey in a more peaceful way.
